Tin Heart
"Tin Heart"

Verse 1[ | ]

Why does everyone avoid me?

Why am I different from everyone else?

Why? Why? Why?

Puppet Dragon:
Dark. Cramped.
Where is everyone?
Get me out of here!

Verse 2[ | ]

A tiny baby was born.

Everyone was so happy.

But the baby was so tiny,
it looked as if he
could die at any moment.

Verse 3[ | ]

His mother and father wished
for him to grow up big and strong.

So they gathered many friends
and a mountain of tin.

Shield Wisp (Water):
Where are you?
Look for me.
Look for me.
I can’t find you.

Bang. Bang. Bang.
Thunk. Thunk. Thunk.

Grow big and strong, they prayed.
Everyone hammered in unison.

Verse 4[ | ]

We worked diligently
to finish the job.

Gathering tin,
and piling it on top…

Day in and day out, we worked.
Finally, we were almost finished.

But we did our job too well.

We piled the tin so high
that it crushed the tiny baby.

Verse 5[ | ]

“Waah! Waah!” cried the baby.
“Aaah! Aaah!” cried everyone else.

Sadness overcame us, and tears stained
our cheeks as we wept through the night.

We lost our most precious gift,
and now our hearts were empty.

Overwhelmed by grief,
we searched for ways
to forget about the baby.

Verse 6[ | ]

Despite our sadness,
we gathered once more.

We needed a distraction.

To stave the loneliness, we
piled the tin again, just like before.

Greater Orc (Water):
We’ve made something terrible.
Please forgive us.

Day in and day out, we worked.

We were finally finished with our
masterpiece--a big, strong dragon.

But of course, it wasn’t alive.
This only made everyone even sadder.

Verse 7[ | ]

Left once again to our own devices,
the sadness seeped back into our lives.

So we decided to give our tin a heart,
and we would see our plan through.

A clever orc had a clever idea.
“Wisps don’t have bodies. If we put
a wisp inside, it will surely move.”

Everyone agreed that it was a great
idea, and we smiled ear to ear.

Verse 8[ | ]

We worked together
to snatch a baby wisp.

It cried out in fear as we thrust
it into the heap of tin.

Shield Wisp (Water):
Cute. Cute.
My family is so cute.
Where did you go?
I have to find you.
The metal demon...

The tin shell now had a heart.

But something was off…
It was missing the most important part.

Verse 9[ | ]

The baby wisp struggled
to break free of its prison.

Alone, afraid, and in total darkness,
it flew into a rage.

His giant body caused great harm.

SNAP went the tin tail as it hit the tin dragon,
smashing it and sending its flesh flying.

The worried mass of tin called out to
the dragon, patting its twitching head.

The head slumped forward,
its inside gushing from the mouth.

Verse 10[ | ]

Everyone ran, fearing for their lives.

No one paid a thought to the tiny baby now.

They didn’t even realize…
...that they were no longer lonely.

Puppet Dragon:
Dark. Cramped.
Hey. Mommy.
Where did you go?
Get me out of here!

Thud. Thud. Thud.
Whir. Whir. Whir.

The huge heap of tin roamed,
searching for family,
crying out for warmth.

“Mommy, it’s me!”
“Daddy, don’t hide!”
He spotted his family amongst a grove of trees…

Or did he? They disappeared.
Maybe it was just his imagination.

The mountain of tin moved on.

Thud. Thud. Thud.
Whir. Whir. Whir.

In search of warmth and family,
no distance is too far.
